Were the ideas of the enlightenment a rebirth of clical ideas or were they revolutionary?

I chose that the ideas of the enlightenment was a rebirth of clical ideas from ancient Rome and ancient Greece. My three supporting ideas were because of the government, philosophy and human rights, and democracy. Any ideas on how I can develop these more?
