How you make a pot of homemade stew?????

I would brown the meat first in a bit of good olive oil, then brown the vegetables in the same pot. Use hot water to deglaze the pan and then add your stock cubes and set aside to simmer on low for a few hours. During the last hour of cooking is when I'd add seasonings and then during the last half hour I'd taste-test and adjust seasonings accordingly.
