How do you " read" an MRI on turf toe, what do you look for?

I had an mri on what is believed to be turf toe, but I won't see my orthopedist again for a few weeks. I have the mri scans on disk and can look at them on my computer, but I don't know what to look for... Is brightness around the injured area a bad thing, because that's the only real difference I can see from the injured area to the normal part of my foot (but then again, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing). If anyone could help that'd be great, I have a swim meet this weekend and my mother doesn't want me to swim so I need to convince her that it's ok to swim with...
