Go for miss universe later in the future ? ?

So, people are starting to tell me that I should go for Miss Ecuador or Miss Pakistan (I'm ecuadorian & Pakistani, but born in NY) but I'm not sure if I should go for it.. I mean, my dream is to become a model or something like that, but I don't want to go for something that i shouldn't bc I don't fit, so I'm asking you guys (people) to see if i should go for it .
